LOCAL 73, ALLIES DONATE HUNDREDS OF COATS, HATS, GLOVES TO OUR VETERANS

     The SEIU Local 73 Veterans Caucus would like to thank everyone who participated in our coat drive for veterans and their families.
     The effort was a smashing success with hundreds of coats, hats, scarfs and gloves collected for our brave fighting men and women and their loved ones.
      Teamsters Local 786 and Teamsters Joint Council 25 also participated in the effort -- as did the office of Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White.

     SEIU Local 73 is collecting winter coats, hats and gloves for veterans and their families.            
     "This drive gives all of us a way to show our support and appreciation for our brave fighting men and women and their loved ones," said SEIU Local 73 President Christine Boardman. "It's our way of giving thanks at this time of the year to those who give us the greatest gift of all -- our freedom."
     The collection drive runs through JANUARY 31, 2010.
     Teamsters Local 786 and Teamsters Joint Council 25 are also participating in the effort.
     Coats, hats and gloves can be dropped off at SEIU Local 73 offices in Chicago, Springfield, Elgin, Urbana and Gary.
     The office of the Secretary of State has agreed to participate in this endeavor and we will be placing collection boxes at the Howlett, Dirksen and 17 North State locations.
